The Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for Industry and Entrepreneurship Antonio Tajani this afternoon visited the Malta Enterprise head offices in Pietà.
Mr Tajani was briefed about the Corporation's extensive work to support local enterprises in their operations in order to facilitate their growth, amongst others through a wide variety of schemes and services which also include the recently-launched Business First, which gathers more than 50 Government services for businesses under one roof.
On his part, whilst praising the support provided by Malta Enterprise, the Vice President of the European Commission commented that assistance to businesses and particularly to SMEs is a crucial element in the battle against the economic crisis. He also stressed on the importance of internationalisation for SMEs, which should also be encouraged to innovate and assisted to have better access to finance.
