Malta Enterprise will be coordinating Malta's participation in Expo 2020 in Dubai, which is estimated to attract over 25 million visitors during the six-month period between October 20, 2020 and April 10, 2021.
The main theme chosen for Expo 2020 is ‘Connecting Minds, Creating the Future’, with a view to stimulating and spurring creativity, innovation and collaboration between the 170 participating countries. The theme has also been divided into three sub-categories, namely Opportunity, Mobility, and Sustainability. Malta will be participating under the category ‘Opportunity’, as the main objective of Malta’s participation is to target new industries, jobs and education, among others.
Mr Anthony Tabone, who has been appointed as the Commissioner General of Malta for Expo 2020 in Dubai, said that the Maltese pavilion will serve as a showcase of what Malta offers as a country. He explained that investors from Dubai are already investing in Malta, but there remain many opportunities for investment in other areas.
