Malta Enterprise will be supporting the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Malta over the next few years by funding a post intended to attract a recent graduate who is willing to undertake research as directed by the Thalassaemia Testing and Haemoglobin Research Group within the Faculty.
The initiative, which is the result of an agreement signed with the University of Malta, forms part of Malta Enterprise's commitment towards capacity building to enable Malta to compete in existing international markets by introducing new services or products and also to establish new markets.
The Faculty of Medicine and Surgery has expressed its appreciation for this initiative as it further strengthens the current research being undertaken.
The agreement was signed by Malta Enterprise CEO Mario Galea and the Rector of the University of Malta, Prof. Alfred J. Vella, in the presence of Malta Enterprise Chairman William Wait, as well as the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery, Prof. Godfrey LaFerla and former Malta Enterprise Chairman Dr Mario Vella, who had initiated this collaboration.
