Maltese artisans at L'Artigiano in Fiera

Six Maltese artisans showcased their products at the L'Artigiano in Fiera, which was held in Milan over the span of nine days and which attracted approximately one and a half million visitors.

The Maltese craft persons’ hand made products included filigree works, stone works, paintings, wooden souvenirs, and soap products.

Participation at the fair was coordinated by Malta Enterprise and Business First in collaboration with the Ministry for Economy, Investment and Small Businesses and the Commerce Department.

 

Malta signs participation contract for Expo 2020 Dubai

Malta formally accepted participation at Expo 2020 Dubai with the signing of the participation contract on November 26, 2018. The contract was signed by Mr Anthony P. Tabone, Commissioner General for Malta at Expo 2020 Dubai, during the annual International Participants Meeting (IPM) that was held in Dubai and which brings together country representatives from all over the globe.

First FDI project to be allocated space at the Gozo Innovation Hub

Noovle, an Italian company offering ICT and cloud consultancy services, is the first FDI project to be allocated space at the new Gozo Innovation Hub. The company will be setting up a research centre focusing on cloud/hybrid cloud; machine learning and blockchain processes, as well as basing a technical team to offer solutions in these fields to its clients.

Hardship fund for the Corporate clients of Satabank

The Ministry for Finance together with the Ministry for the Economy, Investment and Small Businesses has announced the establishment of a hardship fund for the Corporate clients of Satabank. The Fund is being managed by Malta Enterprise.

The hardship fund provides a bridge loan to assist affected companies. The fund effects and processes payments to cover verifiable salary bills. Other critical operating expenses may be considered on a case by case basis.

ME at Medical Cannabis World Forum

Malta Enterprise representatives promoted Malta as an attractive investment location for operators involved in the research and production of medical cannabis at the Medical Cannabis World Forum, which was being held in Malta over a span of two days between November 20 and 21.

During the forum, Malta Enterprise CEO Mario Galea also delivered a presentation during which he outlined the role the corporation plays in supporting businesses to set up and grow in Malta, as well as the business environment and legal framework that companies would be operating in.

Malta Enterprise to support companies affected by Brexit

The Get Ready scheme was launched during a business breakfast entitled “Brexit: threats, challenges and opportunities” organized by Malta Enterprise at the Phoenicia Hotel in Floriana and which was attended by almost 150 representatives of local businesses and stakeholders.

The event focused on the opportunities that may arise from the unfolding scenario, as well as the disruptions and challenges that Malta-based businesses may face as a consequence of the final Brexit deal.
