Malta Enterprise and the Malta College of Arts Science and Technology (MCAST) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding intended to provide students with easier access to the entrepreneurial world and provide an eco-safe framework for innovative ideas to thrive. This framework will help students with innovative ideas to start and develop a successful business.
Malta’s Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) inflows for the first half of 2013 turned positive, statistics published by the National Statistics Office show.
The positive increase in FDI inflows was mainly the result of an increase in foreign owned equity capital, which increased by €79 million in the first half of 2013.
Malta Enterprise invites expressions of interest from enterprises to join a business delegation to the Middle East led by the Minister for the Economy, Investment and Small Business, Hon. Malta Enterprise has decided to cancel the Solar Energy Grant Scheme 2013 due to technical problems encountered in the process of pre-selection of suppliers.
This decision was reached after consultations with the Managing Authority of the European Regional Development Fund, the findings of the Appeals Committee and a thorough consideration of the various options available.

The largest and most important annual trade show in the world for franchising, the International Franchise Expo, will take place in New York, June 20 – 22, 2013. The U.S. Embassy is promoting the Franchise Expo and is actively recruiting a Maltese delegation to attend. The expo will feature over 400 franchise exhibitors, with investments ranging from $5,000 to over $1 million.
Malta Enterprise would like to notify that the deadline for suppliers of PV systems to register with the Corporation in view of the upcoming ERDF Solar Energy scheme has been extended to June 14th, 2013 at 14:00h.

Malta Enterprise is establishing a list of suppliers of photovoltaic systems that may be eligible for part-financing through a new scheme aimed at helping local enterprises invest in solar energy. This scheme is due to be launched in the coming weeks.
Through this ERDF Solar Energy scheme, which is co-financed through the European Regional Development Fund, eligible enterprises may receive a grant to part-finance the installation of PV systems. This would help them generate energy from renewable energy sources and reduce their dependency on fossil fuels.
