ME committed to provide best possible service

Malta Enterprise regrets the inconvenience caused to its clients as a result of the industrial action announced by the General Workers Union (GWU), whose members have been instructed not to answer telephone calls and emails, as well as not to carry out the document delivery service.

The Corporation remains committed towards providing the best possible service and will thus be working to try to minimise the disruption that may be caused.

Strategy for digital gaming industry launched

Malta Enterprise, the University of Malta and the Malta Council for Science and Technology in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, the Economy and Investment launched the digital gaming strategy for Malta to facilitate the growth of this lucrative niche as an offshoot of the flourishing ICT industry.

The strategy was launched during a one-day-conference on April 27 that was opened by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi and which was attended by several industry stakeholders as well as students who are looking at a career in digital gaming.

Austrian businesses explore Malta

A business delegation comprising around 20 Austrian companies accompanied the Federal President of Austria H.E. Dr Heinz Fischer on his State Visit to Malta to explore the business environment in the country and learn about the trade and investment opportunities that Malta offers.

While in Malta, the Austrian businesses participated in a business forum organised by Malta Enterprise together with the Embassy of Austria in Malta during which presentations were delivered by Malta Enterprise, the Malta Chamber of Commerce, Enterprise and Industry, FinanceMalta, as well as the GRTU.

ME delegation strenghtening links with Qatar

A business delegation organised by Malta Enterprise comprising 20 local enterprises operating in a wide variety of sectors is currently visiting Qatar to explore prospective business ventures and strengthen the commercial relationship between the two countries.

During a networking event at the Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Malta Enterprise executive chairman Alan Camilleri delivered a short presentation on the business environment in
Malta.

ME wins UNCTAD Investment Promotion Award 2012

Malta Enterprise has been awarded the United Nations Conference on Trade and Investment (UNCTAD) Investment Promotion Award 2012 for its efforts to attract foreign investment to Malta and assisting companies already in the country to develop and grow their operations.

Honouring the world's best-practices in investment promotion, the Investment Promotion Awards go to the world's best agencies in promoting investment for job creation and skills development, which besides Malta Enterprise this year also included Mexico and China.

Business delegation explores new Libya

A business delegation comprising 20 companies operating in the maritime industry has returned to Malta after a successful exploratory mission to learn more about the business environment in the post-revolution Libya.

Operating in sectors such as ship repair, maritime engineering and infrastructure, port management and services, yachting services, as well as others involved in soft services such as training and consultancy, the business delegates took a particular interest in the site visits to various ports.

EU Gateway and Executive Training Programs

The Enterprise Europe Network unit with Malta Enterprise hosted a business breakfast for local entrepreneurs to introduce them to two EU-funded programmes which assist companies in their export efforts to Japan and South Korea.

Whilst it is acknowledged that these markets have got great potential, it is also a fact that entry into these markets is particularly difficult due to cultural and language barriers for the vast majority of European enterprises.
