European Commission’s public consultation on revision of de minimis regulation

The European Commission has launched a consultation on a draft revision of the de minimis regulation.

Under the current rules, Member States can grant support of up to €200,000 per beneficiary over a period of three years (‘de minimis threshold’) without prior notification to the Commission for approval.

Malta-based MGC completes long-COVID clinical trial

MGC Pharmaceuticals Ltd, which has a base in Malta, has seen very positive results from a clinical study for the white-label version of its ArtemiC™ Support to assess its impact on patients suffering from Long-COVID.

During the study 60 COVID-vaccinated patients suffering from Long-COVID were observed in clinics across Spain when administered the study product twice a day for six weeks.

The administered nutraceutical was shown to alleviate symptoms of Long-COVID unrelated to functional limitations, including pain, mental confusion, sleep disorders and inflammation.

Forming an integral part of Malta Enterprise at its head office in Pietà, Business First provides authoritative information and assistance on over 50 Government services for businesses. Clients are assisted to apply for these services from one centralised location and provided information on incentives and schemes offered by Malta Enterprise. This allows entrepreneurs to spend more time on running their business and is particularly beneficial for start-up entrepreneurs who often lack familiarity with the business environment.

EFRAG launches consultation on draft sustainability reporting standards

The European Financial Reporting Advisory group (EFRAG) has published its draft European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and is inviting all stakeholders to provide comments through the consultation survey. The Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (EYE) programme, which is supported locally by Malta Enterprise, has reached an outstanding 10,000 entrepreneurial exchanges across the participating countries. This number marks a milestone, proving the enormous success of the programme.
