Malta Enterprise partners with T-Systems in offering Blockchain Ecosystem

Malta Enterprise and T-Systems have signed an MOU to offer Blockchain Ecosystem services for companies setting up their blockchain project in Malta.

The signing, which made Malta Enterprise the first partner for the T-Systems Blockchain Ecosystem, took place during Digital X, Europe’s biggest cross-sectoral digitalization initiative.

T-Systems will offer its business customers a "Blockchain Ecosystem" from 2020. The new marketplace provides secure, compliant and rapidly deployable blockchain services.

Stakeholder workshop for establishing an export credit guarantee facility in Malta

Malta Enterprise, with the support of the European Commission through the SRSP (Structural Reforms Support Programme) and Euler Hermes, organised a workshop with the objective of presenting results of a study to identify export credit guarantee products and the target operating model best-suited to be introduced in Malta. The workshop provided business representatives and key stakeholders with an opportunity to discuss and share their views prior the final report due to be presented by end November 2019.

€25m investment in new hangar for Lufthansa Technik Malta

Lufthansa Technik Malta will be investing 25 million euro to expand its facility in Malta after signing an agreement with Malta Industrial Parks Ltd (MIP) for the allocation of 21,000 square metres of land adjacent to its existing hangars.

Through this investment, which is also being facilitated by Malta Enterprise through the support it provides companies to set up and grow in Malta, the company will be building another hangar in which it will be able to service a wide-bodied aircraft and a narrow-bodied aircraft together at any one time.

Bridging the gap between academia and industry to further sustain economic and social development

Malta Enterprise is taking a leading role in bringing together academia and industry, in order to nourish further collaboration and synergies between the key stakeholders. 

To this end, Malta Enterprise organised a roundtable to further discuss the current challenges faced by the industry. Such initiatives work to further develop Malta’s research and innovation ecosystem — which is one of the agency’s primary aims, as collaboration between industry, the public sector and academia remains critical to sustaining both economic and social development. 

Technical delegation visits Ghana

A technical delegation led by Malta Enterprise and comprising representatives from Trade Malta, Transport Malta, the Malta Medicines Authority, the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade Promotion, as well as the High Commission of Malta in Ghana and the designate Ambassador to the African Union visited Ghana to discuss opportunities for trade and investment.

Malta’s innovation showcased at EGIS

Malta’s innovation profile was showcased at the EUREKA Global Innovation Summit (EGIS) in Manchester, UK, which attracted representatives from over 60 countries ranging from industry, businesses, academia and research centres, to public agencies and EUREKA partner organisations.

The event also included a 3-day conference programme consisting of over 50 inspiring sessions with more than 140 speakers, as well as a wide range of interactive sessions with the EUREKA Clusters, practical workshops, and various matchmaking and networking opportunities.
