Towards Personalised Medicine: iCarbonX chooses Malta as the first international base

iCarbonX has chosen Malta as the first international base of a project aimed at developing an artificial intelligence platform to facilitate research related to the treatment of diseases, preventive care and precision nutrition. This approach is considered as an essential element to enable the future development of personalized medicine.iCarbonX founder and CEO Dr Jun Wang was the co-founder and former CEO of genome-sequencing powerhouse BGI that in 2013 acquired California-based Complete Genomics.

Micro Invest: Late Submission Deadline for Costs Incurred in 2014

Malta Enterprise has introduced a late submission deadline for Micro Invest applications. Applications must be submitted by 30th November 2015 and may only include costs incurred in 2014.Businesses that have already submitted a claim for costs incurred in 2014 may not submit another application.Full documentation and the application form can be found on the Malta Enterprise website http://www.maltaenterprise.com/en/support/microinvest. Minister Chris Cardona and Malta Enterprise Chairman visit local companies

Minister Chris Cardona, accompanied by Dr. Mario Vella Executive Chairman of Malta Enterprise and Mr Cain Grech, Manager Policy and Administration at Business First visited Idroplast Ltd. and D-Square Ltd., two companies that in the last two years have been successful and benefited from assistance offered by Malta Enterprise and Business First.Minister Cardona reiterated Government’s commitment towards a pro-business strategy and this is confirmed through the new incentive schemes announced in this year’s budget.

Malta Enterprise launches seed funding for small start-ups

During a press conference held at Malta Enteprise office, Dr Chris Cardona announced a new scheme, Business Start (B.Start), aimed at assisting new start ups.  Through this scheme, Malta Enterprise will be offering a seed funding for start-ups up to a maximum grant of €25,000.The measure is intended to support small start-up undertakings that have a viable business concept and are in the early stage of its development.An initial installment of €10,000 shall be paid once the project is approved.Subsequent installments shall be paid quarterly after the Corporation reviews and endorses that th

Go Global Programme for new exporters

Malta Enterprise has assisted 14 SMEs to develop their internationalisation strategy through an Export Planning Course as part of its Go Global Programme for new exporters.The first group of participants included representatives of companies involved in a variety sectors, such as food and catering, clothing design, ICT business solutions, furniture, energy, and software development, amongst others.The Export Planning Course followed a 15-hour free export-readiness audit which assessed the participants’ capabilities for exporting.
